The Lord-Lieutenant of West Yorkshire, Dame Ingrid M Roscoe officially opened the new testing laboratory FITT (Furniture Industry Testing Technology), which is located at Mobus Elland headquarters, on the 3rd November 2017

FITT is a fully independent laboratory that has been designed and specified to meet the accreditation requirements of UKAS and will work in a supporting role for the continued growth of Mobus Fabrics Ltd, as a global supplier of upholstery and soft furnishings.
Working within the framework of Mobus the laboratory will offer on-site testing, which will reduce testing time and facilitate a fast track approach to the design and development of fabric and delivery of new product to customers.

The facility will provide investigative work to offer a quicker resolution to consumer queries and deliver a continual assessment of current fabric quality to ensure compliance.
Working with key customers and a leading UK testing equipment supplier, FITT is developing new testing regimes and modifications to compliment the current British Standards test methods to offer a more accurate representation of the stresses incurred by furniture in the consumer’s home.
Continued investment in state of the art testing equipment and experienced Textile Industry trained staff has provided FITT with a facility that has all the necessary expertise and equipment to meet performance levels for testing to British and European Standards for upholstery and flammability.
With one eye on the future and in partnership with the Huddersfield Textile Institute we have embraced the apprenticeship scheme, offering local youngsters a balance of industry work experience and NVQ training.
FITT is an accreditation ready laboratory that will continue to strive for improvement in testing, training and controls that will meet the upholstery industries expectations
