Mobus has been recognised for International Trade, achieving outstanding continuous growth year on year growth since 2006. International trade has been a particular focus for the last 6 years with turnover at £3.7 million, contributing for 22% of turnover.
CEO, Mike Presley “We are delighted and immensely honoured to win a Queen’s Award for Enterprise, the most coveted accolade in British business. To have our achievements recognised in this way is a source of great pride for all employees and everyone associated with our company. We hope the prestige that comes with this Award will help us to open new international markets and continue to build the Mobus brand, both here in the UK and overseas. “
The Queen’s Award follows previous recognition by UK Trade and Industry, who awarded Mobus in 2015 with an Established Chinese Business Award for their investment in China. In 2016 Mobus was recognised by the London Stock Exchange as one of the leading 1000 companies to inspire Britain.
Mobus recently invested in its third warehouse in the UK as well as additional office space and a fabric testing facility at their head office site. The new investments will ensure that Mobus has plenty of capacity for future growth whilst maintaining the highest levels in quality and customer service. Mobus has added 4 new collections in the first quarter of 2017 and also attended London Fabric Show for the first time.
Managing Director, Ian Bostock “Since winning the awards we have opened up new international markets in Japan, USA and Europe and developed new opportunities in the UAE. We hope to build on the success of this award with strong growth for future years to come”
Over the last decade Mobus has seen sales increase from £3m to £17m worldwide. New investments in a modern finishing plant and warehouse facility in China has given the Group greater flexibility in growing sales in the Far East and offering its UK customers different manufacturing options.
‘We recognise that in 2017 the UK faces an increased risk of a market slowdown. However we believe the Group remains very well positioned to respond to economic headwinds and cost pressure whilst achieving continued growth” said a company spokesman.
Mobus will officially receive the Award from The Lord-Lieutenant of West Yorkshire at a ceremony at Mobus Head Office in Elland. That will be followed by a reception with the Queen, held at Buckingham Palace later in the year.
